If You Can Give More, Then a Candid Request for Your Private, Involved Patronage.

Where would Wagner be without King Ludwig? Or Mozart without Franz Joseph II? Or Beethoven without his Count and Countess supporters? Or Lully without King Louis XIV, the Sun King? These composers weren't always famous, nor were they always respected as being great musicians as history has honored them.

The answer is they would probably have been forgotten by now or unable to write as much music as they did, because there was not enough money to buy paper, ink, or tune the piano.

Unless you're born into it or very lucky, our times are not much different if you concentrate in areas of music that are not mass popular based. It takes money to get over that initial hump of obscurity and into the consciousness of the public eye. Performing artists naturally respond to my music. Many graciously donate their time and talent, but unfortunately musicians are struggling too and need separate financial incentive to read through new music that the public may be unfamiliar.

At this point I hope you have listened to my music and heard my singing . If my talent and potential has impressed you, and if you believe in opening doors and creating opportunities for me and my work, then become my private patron.

Enable me to continue my work of composing, producing recordings and/or concerts, and singing. Provide the means to break through financial limitations and lack of public exposure. By being my patron, you would also be helping countless other musicians and artists, theaters and performance spaces who collaborate to present my art to the public.

James Nathaniel Holland hosts and produces many classical music at his small bed and breakfast in Costa Rica.  As a private patron of James, you would be supporting these activities too.

You can be the one to bring that long awaited serendipity and initial recognition. The one to have discovered someone before they succeeded professionally, and eventually you would always be known as that person who made it possible.
