| For James and his Garden (January 1,
2008) My pockets are full of spices. Sweet, pungent leaves from allspices, cinnamon, clove. My finger stained with crushed oils, healing potions, gifts to the divine. Jasmine, frankincense, secrets of the night. ...While we have come as pilgrams to shed our symbols. Lay them before the alters of memory. Fall under the spell of fragrance. So I too am an opportunist, with my pockets full of San Pablo spices. Poet, Lorraine Vana |

all goes well for your bed and breakfast business. I have passed your name

Hi James, Just wanted to let you know how
much we enjoyed Costa Rica. Thank you for your hospitality.
We'll always remember the beautiful old churches, especially the one where
we went to half a Mass! :) The trip with Tony [Casa Holanda
chauffeur] to the Caribbean worked out very well. We thought he was
great. We were very happy he was driving and not us, because there
are so many bike riders and pedestrians on the road. . . . .
Bill Carroll, who owns Pachamama, had heard of you and said he had heard
you were the cultural bright spot in San Jose.
....
Once again, thank you for sharing your Costa Rica pura vida! Sincerely, J. Lamoureaux Oregon, USA | ||

.....Still, we had a really great time in CR and all the better for finding accomodation at your beautiful house. Thank you for taking the time to look after us and Casa Holanda was just right. ....Thank you once again James. Will definitely see you when we are next in CR - Lovat is already rounding up her birdie gang!! Look after you, Tara

James, I`d like to thank you again for
making my stay at Casa Holanda so enjoyable, as well as productive.
My room, The Sunrise, was comfortable and cozy - and the price was
certainly right.... The meals were delicious and varied, and you prepared
them with a gourmet chef´s touch. If I suggested that I might like
to try a certain dish, that meal soon appeared on the
menu.
As someone who is applying for
pensionado status in Costa Rica, your knowledge of Costa Rican
beauracracy, and the many services you provided were a huge help to
me. Also, your professional contacts (lawyer, insurance,
mechanic, and so on) made it possible for me to accomplish obtaining a
drivers license, buy a car, and obtain insurance in a short span of
time. I can´t imagine trying to get all those things done on my
own!
You are a most gracious host, and
the musical aspect of Casa Holanda only added to the grace of the
experience of staying at your B&B. I highly recommend Casa
Holanda as a place to stop and spend some time when in Costa
Rica.
Will see you again, I´m
sure!
Best
Regards,
